Red Globe Press (RGP) and Bloomsbury

As of July 1st, 2021, the distribution of Bloomsbury in Europe and Rest of World, excluding Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada, transferred from Springer Nature to Macmillan Distribution (MDL).

If you are located within Australia or New Zealand, distribution transferred from Springer Nature to Macmillan Distribution (MDL) on September 30th, 2021.

Europe/Rest of World-Returns of Bloomsbury titles

Product shipped until June 30th, 2021 was authorized on the basis that physical stock is returned to a Springer Nature returns location.

The deadline for returning pre-authorized physical books to Springer Nature was September 30th, 2021.

Returns received after that date will not be credited. Your pre-authorized returns had to be sent to Springer Nature in order to be received before the cut-off date.

For Bloomsbury orders on or after July 1st, 2021, returns had to be directed to Macmillan Distribution (MDL), and returns authorizations should only be sought from MDL and will be subject to MDL’s returns policy.

If you are in the United States, Canada or Latin American sales territories distribution was transferred from Springer Nature to MPS Virginia on September 30th, 2021. Effective the 1st of October 2021, Bloomsbury took over all aspects of the publication, supply, fulfillment and instructor sample copies.

US/Canada/Latin America-Returns of Bloomsbury titles

Until December 31, 2021 the return rules: Authorized returns from Springer Nature invoices in North America should be sent to the returns address noted on your Springer Nature Invoice. Springer Nature returns policy applies. Effective January 1st, 2022 please forward authorized returns back to Bloomsbury.

Bloomsbury worked with both Springer Nature and Macmillan Distribution (MDL) on a transfer plan which ensured minimal disruption to services or supply. Availability of some products were limited during the weeks while stock had been transferred. Orders were fulfilled by Springer Nature up to and including June 30th, 2021 (subject to availability).  All unfulfilled backorders and tele-orders recorded at Springer Nature were reported to MDL and were canceled on Springer Nature’s system at the point of handover.  MDL (or your Bloomsbury Sales Representative) will contact customers separately for instructions on the reinstatement of these backorders.

Arrangements have been made for Nielsen and PubEasy to re-route orders automatically.  If you are using any direct forms of EDI, for either Springer Nature or MDL, you will need to ask your IT colleagues to make any necessary arrangements to order routing. The impacted titles were live in Springer Nature’s ONIX feed until Wednesday June 30th. The titles were withdrawn from sale, and MDL began accepting orders from July 1st.

Please ensure you submit payments to the originating distributor for any fulfilled orders; for clarity the distributor is named on the invoice you received.

Please refer to our Book Returns Policy for our various returns address locations.
