CAP (continuous article publishing) means that each article, after peer-review and acceptance, will be published immediately within the monthly issue, including a digital object identifier (DOI) and page numbers. Due to this special structure each article starts with page 1.
Please note: CAP Journals are not seperated in issues. there are only all articles available, not volumes and issues.
How to cite articles published in a Continuous Article Publishing (CAP) journal?
Each article published in a CAP journal is assigned a unique article number, e. g. 62 in the case of:
“Dual-state dual emission from precise chemically engineered bi-ligand MOF free from encapsulation and functionalization with self-calibration model for visual detection” by Ameen, S.S.M., Qader, I.B., Qader, H.A. et al., published in Vol. 191 of Microchimica Acta. This number is to be included in the citation alongside the volume number, e. g. Microchim Acta 191, 62 (2024).
The article number is distinct from the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), e. g.:
https://doi.org/10.1007/s00604-023-06148-5.
